HOW THE OG 2000 WORKS

The OG™ 2000 is optimized to measure the flatness of a Part. It is based on a new, patented technology, which measures the entire surface of a Part. The System generates up to a 1,000,000 data points with submicrometer resolution in less than a minute. The technology measures the amount of light absorbed by a liquid between the Part and a glass reference surface.

The OG™ 2000 system includes a glass tray, lights, CCD camera, optical filters and a computer. The tray, which holds the fluid, has an ultra flat glass bottom. One of the filters looks through the fluid and the other filter looks at the absorbed light.

The Part is placed in the tray along with a NIST traceable calibration bar. The menu driven computer system controls the lights, filters, and camera. The System uses the calibration bar with each measurement to assure accuracy. The computer captures the images and generates a best fit plane for the surface of the Part. The User controls how the image is displayed on the monitor. The System runs on Windows NT® software.

OG™ 2000 uses top quality industrial components from Dalsa (camera), Matrox (frame grabber) and InnoSys (camera control and enhancement).
